Smelley, Finas J. "Jim" Greenbush, Michigan Passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Covenant - Harrison, at the age of 76 years. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan, on March 28, 1941, to the late Finas and Agnes (Moulton) Smelley. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1959. He married Mary Ann MacConnel on September 5, 1959, and she survives him. He had been employed at Saginaw Metal Castings for over 35 years as an electrician. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Harrisville. Jim enjoyed his family and loved his place at the lake. He was known for his good sense of humor. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Smelley; four children, James M. Smelley, Marlette, Michigan; David C. (Raphael) Smelley, Southington, Connecticut; William J. Smelley, Long Beach, California; Linda A. (Michael) Ward, Anchorage, Alaska; five grandchildren, Christin Laubhan, William Smelley, David Smelley, Travis Ward and Erica Ward; one great-grandson, Domanic Laubhan; one sister, Dany Strongrich, Saginaw; several nieces, nephews and their families. He was predeceased by a sister, Margery Kocks. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, where his family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, and then on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. James Neumann will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
