Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021, at Hoyt Nursing Home. Age 109 years.
The daughter of the late Edith (Raymond) and Fred Erskine was born December 18, 1912 in Hemlock, Michigan, living in Saginaw most of her life. She married John V. Powlus, September 17, 1932. He passed away April 3, 1986. Later she married Loundy L. Parth, June 11, 1992. He passed away Feb 20, 2010. Florence was a member of Community Baptist Church, Shields. She enjoyed volunteering with St. Lukes Hospital (Covenant-Cooper) and the Saginaw City Rescue Mission. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Saginaw. She enjoyed gardening, especially African Violets, sewing and crafts. She had many wonderful friends at Wellspring Independent Living.
Surviving are seven children, Mary J. McCauley; Lilah M. Thrush; James R. Fischer; Bonnie L. Barker; Elizabeth A. Frick; Penny S. (Charles) Rambo; Judith C. Shelbrock; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two daughters, Edith J. Osmun and Nancy A. Barrilleaux.
