Frances Soliz

Soliz, Frances Carrollton, MI Loving mother and grandmother passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016 at St. Mary's of Michigan age 80 years. The daughter of the late Rito and Juanita (Mendoza) Alfaro was born on January 29, 1936 in Flint, MI. She married Federico S. Soliz on November 3, 1956; he predeceased her in 2010. Frances retired from Holly's Landing after 20 years of service as a cook. She was a member of St. John Paul II Parish. Frances enjoyed puzzles, traveling, trips to the casino and cheering for the Detroit Tigers. Surviving are five children and their spouses; Federico (Elizabeth) Soliz, Jr., Roberto R. Soliz, Anna M. (James) McGrath, Eliza M. (Kevin) Cole, Lydia S. Soliz; 13 grandchildren; Nicholas Soliz, Jessica Soliz, Roberto Marcos Soliz, Armando Rito Soliz, Monica Anne Soliz, Jessica Lafountain, Shannon Nicole (Raymond III) Eddy, Adam Jared Fanger, Christy Anne (Greg) Martin, Patricia Coleman, Chester Coleman, Jr. Brionna Coleman, Aaliyah Mitchell; 6 great-grandchildren; Raymond Eddy IV, Markus Martin, Owen Martin, Danica Martin, Jalina Bauer, Angelina Bauer; four sisters, five brothers, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends including her dearest friend Clara Thomas. Besides her husband Frances was predeceased by her grandson Brandon Kenneth Cole. Funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at the St. John Paull II Parish, St. Josaphat Catholic Church, 469 Shattuck. Fr. James Wm. Bessert will officiate with cremation to follow. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. where friends may gather for a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
