Frank James LaFontaine Freeland, Michigan Passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at Covenant-Cooper. Age 66 years. The son of the late Frank and Emily (Corcoran) LaFontaine was born December 22, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan. He served with the U. S. Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He married Linda (Turek) Sylvester, April 21, 2006. She survives him. He retired from the Caseville School with many years of service. He was a member of the Caseville American Legion. Frank enjoyed playing darts and cards, hunting, fishing, casino hopping and was a member of a Beech Hollow golf league. Surviving besides his wife, Linda, are three children, Frank James LaFontaine III, Bay City, MI; John LaFontaine, Caseville, MI; Terri LaFontaine, Bay City, MI; five grandchildren, Lindsay and Lexi Hutchinson; Breanna, Ashlie and Hallie LaFontaine; five step-children, Steven Napora III, David Napora, Nina Napora; Michael(Yvette) Napora; Tara Napora; his step-grandchildren, Christopher Foley, Brianna Napora, Starr Chobod Napora, Damian Harrington, Destiny Napora, Jacob and Timothy Hill; his brothers and sisters, Emily LaFontaine, Paulette Cummins, Richard(Connie Weishuhn) LaFontaine, Ruth Ann (Marvin) Cross; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Deanne and Gary Turek; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Deborah Taylor, Taffy (Pete) Light, Valerie Turek, Gary Turek; his nieces and nephews, Charles Warren, May Alfano, Bruce Warren, Emily Witherspoon, Deborah Hopkins, Jerry Bowers, Kim Rintoul, Tony Bowers, Kelly Armbruster, Kay Tennant, Norahray Cummins, Jayme LaFontaine, Kari LaFontaine, Sean Cross, Tony (Carol) Taylor; Daniel (Heather) Taylor, Corey Taylor, Chelsea Light, Melanie (Chris) Fialkowski, Kelsey Turek, Logan Turek, Dakota Turek, Kirstie Turek, Terry (Missy) Bowers and Cecil Edwards Byrnes. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. Military honor will be under the auspices of the U.S. Marine Corp. Friends may call at the Chapel from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Wednesday and 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday.
