Frederick A. Porath

Porath, Frederick A. Spaulding Township, Michigan Passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, April 2, 2014 with his family at his side, at the age of 89 years. Frederick was born November 21, 1924, in Saginaw the son of the late Alfred and Nora (Scheall) Porath. Fred married Ann Kathleen Orth February 15, 1947; she predeceased him November 28, 1999. He was a decorated U.S. Army WWII Veteran. He drove truck for over 40 years for Maiers Motor Freight. He was one of the owners of Frankenmuth Kaffee Haus. He was a member of the Church of God Flint Fellowship and the Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his children, Frederick F. Porath, Alan W. (Rose) Porath, Lori (Mark) Gregory, and John C. (Lynn) Porath; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers and his sister. Funeral services will take place at 12:00 noon Saturday, April 12, 2014, at W.L. Case & Company 5700 Dixie Hwy., Saginaw, Michigan 48601. Burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the funeral home from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
