Our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 17. 2021. Age 81 years.
Fred was born on December 20, 1939, son of the late Edna Churneski, in Detroit, Michigan. He married the love of his life, Marilyn “Dennie” Byrd on April 20, 1963. She survives him. Fred served in the U.S. Army and was a faithful member of Saginaw Wesleyan Church. For many years he took great pride acting as Santa Claus in various locations spreading joy to both children and adults. He was former owner and operator of Fredd’s Auto Salvage and enjoyed golfing, traveling, cooking, spreading laughter with his great sense of humor and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn “Dennie”; daughter, Kimberly and Tim Duletzke; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Drake, Brenden and Mitchel Duletzke, Matthew (Lauren) Husen and Chad Husen (Angela); four great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Janice “Renie” Parks and Beth Fehn (Jim); daughter-in-law, Michelle Husen; many very special nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Frederick Husen, Jr.
Funeral service will take place at 12:00 Noon, on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Saginaw Wesleyan Church, 2125 Shattuck Road. Rev. Robert Tibbits will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider Saginaw Wesleyan Church.
