Frederick Leonard Stroebel

Passed away Saturday, January 5, 2018, at Covenant Cooper. Age 77 years. The son of the late Eva (Waite) and George Stroebel was born September 15, 1940 in Hemlock, Michigan. He was a graduate of Hemlock High School and served with the US. Army. He married Donna Kolka, May 2, 1964. She passed away December 28, 2015. He was employed by Stapletons as truck driver, retiring with over 28 years of service. He was a member of the Hemlock United Methodist Church and the Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. post #7302. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and the out- of-doors. He was an active volunteer with the D.R.E.W. Foundation. Surviving are three children, Dan Stroebel; Renee Favreau/Zugaro; Gina Brown and her husband, Matt; a granddaughter, Alicia Pence; two brothers and I sister and their spouses, Joan Bailey; John and Melody Stroebel; Ken and Sandy Stroebel; many nieces and nephews. A son, Frederick, and nine brothers and sisters have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at Noon Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Hemlock United Methodist Church. Rev. Michael Vollmer will officiate with Military burial in Richland Twp. Cemetery under the auspice of Hemlock-Merrill V.F.W. Post 7302. Friends may call at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the D.R.E.W. Foundation.
