G. Robert Thayer

Thayer, G. Robert Birch Run, Michigan Passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2013 at Medilodge of Montrose at the age of 79 years. The son of the late Ralph and Laura Thayer was born on June 22, 1934 in Shingleton, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Rosalie Keller on August 16, 1957; she survives him. He was a member of Saginaw Valley United Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed working outdoors, working on odd projects, and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife, Rosalie are their children; Darrell (Shawn) Thayer, Craig (Sally) Thayer, Christopher (Maria) Thayer, David (Janie) Thayer, Robert (Lisa) Thayer, Roger (Lisa) Thayer; grandchildren; Craig "Sluggo", Jennifer, Stephanie, Travis (Candis), Kyle, Amanda (Josh), Zach, McKenzie, Mikayla, Gabrielle, Alexis; great-grandchildren; Eliana, Liam McHugh and Owen Mendoza; his siblings; Frankie "Bocky" LaFlamme, Roberta "Bob" Burrs, Leon "Dee" Thayer, Harley "Ray" Thayer, Ethelyn Gunsalus and many nieces and nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his siblings; Howard Newberry, Jack Newberry, Ralph "Collins" Thayer, Marganette "Marge" Johnson (Syers), Lorna "Jo" Massey, Gladys "Dick" Mozader, Dale "Doda" Thayer. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Saginaw Valley United Pentecostal Church, 6740 Dixie Highway, Bridgeport. Rev. Kevin Leaman will officiate. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 5700 Dixie Hwy. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
