Gail P. Roethlisberger

Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025. Age 77 years.

The daughter of Nina (Shorthouse) and the late Grover Austin, Gail was born October 25, 1947, in Saginaw, Michigan. Gail married Ricky L. Roethlisberger on September 22, 1989, in Saginaw. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2023. Gail dedicated her professional life to a long and fulfilling career in real estate. She was a member at Smyrna Bible Chapel. Gail had a profound love for reading and found solace outdoors, particularly at her cabin in Gladwin. She also had a deep fondness for cats, which brought her much joy throughout her life.

Surviving are her sons and daughters, John and Jamie Roethlisberger, Kari Roethlisberger and Tony Vettraino, Michel Roethlisberger, Emmit “Tom” and Kelly Green; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her mother Nina; two sisters and one brother. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides her husband and her father; Gai was preceded in death by her daughter, Heather Green; grandparents, George and Florence Austin.

Honoring Gail’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial service may be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Humane Society of Saginaw County.
