Gale Ann Konsdorf, 71, passed away in the morning of April 12, 2015 in the company of her loving husband and family. She was the beloved wife of Ellis (Butch) Konsdorf, mother of Jill Tyler Aaron and Heidi Konsdorf Zanan, dog mom and dog grandmom to Baxter, Bosco, Baili and Toby.
Gale was born in Saginaw Michigan, in 1944, the second of five children born to Leon and Julie Matowski.
She knew at a young age that she wanted to be a nurse and began her training at the Bay City School of Nursing, earning her LPN in 1964, the same year she married Ellis. She then earned her RN from Delta in 1972, while raising two small daughters. Gale had a 37 year career in nursing, working primarily in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where she thrived due to her love of the work and the babies.
She was well loved by family and friends for her quirky sense of humor and happy dispostion. She loved to travel, and be in her home where she gardened, crafted and cooked. She and Ellis celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on December 19, 2014.
She is survived by her husband, daughters, her sisters Karen (Robert) Bronz and Denise Matowski, and her brother Frank Matowski. She was preceded in death by her older sister Sharon Young.
The memorial will be held at Case Funeral Home- 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI. The memorial service will be held at 2:00 on Friday April 17. Family and friends are invited to gather before the service starting at 1:00.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
