It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Gale Ann (Cherry) Marden, of Hemlock, Michigan on April 5, 2025, at the age of 81. She passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side. Her soul has passed on to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus, and all who have passed before her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children Wendy (Marden) Tortorella and Doug Marden; and her grandchildren, Leland Tortorella, Ellie Tortorella and Sawyer Tortorella who she loved with all her heart. She will also be dearly missed by her closest friend, Barbara Wood.
She was predeceased in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Richard Earl Marden; son-in-law Gene James Tortorella; and her parents Stanley J. Cherry and Dorothy (Harnden) Cherry.
Gale was born on July 6th,1943 to Stanley J. and Dorothy (Harnden) Cherry. She graduated from Holy Rosary High School in 1961. She had been a cheerleader for that school’s athletic teams. She enjoyed being a volunteer clown for the Red Cross for many years. In August of 1968, she married Richard Marden. Together, they created countless cherished memories before Richard passed away on March 26, 2018. They enjoyed traveling and camping. They went on several cross country trips including a one month trip to Alaska.
The Funeral Liturgy is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church,1035 N. River Rd., Saginaw, Michigan 48609, with visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Omer, Michigan at 3:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603.
