Beloved husband, father, brother, brother-in-law, and friend passed away peacefully at his home on April 6, 2024. Born on December 16, 1945, in Saginaw, Michigan, Gary was a proud graduate of Saginaw High School in 1963.

Gary's life was marked by his unwavering faith and his warm, funny personality that endeared him to many. He was an Elder at Faith Lutheran Church in Bridgeport and was confirmed in 2016.  Gary found joy in volunteering his time with food distribution and treasured his church family dearly. His commitment to service extended to his years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1965 to 1969, where he served on the U.S.S Orleck DD886 and the U.S.S Providence CLG-6. Gary worked at GM Saginaw Steering Gear for 35 years until his retirement in 2000.

Aside from his military service, Gary had a diverse set of interests that brought him immense pleasure. He loved sports, particularly basketball and football, enjoyed attending concerts, and being out in nature. Birdwatching and gardening were among his favorite pastimes, allowing him to appreciate the beauty of the world around him.

Surviving are two daughters: Karen Ehrhardt of Saginaw and Crystal Green of Saginaw; brother-in-law: Gary Waber of Saginaw. He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Ann Green, wife Marlene Kay Green, and sister Carol Jean.

A funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Road, Saginaw, Michigan, 48603. Rev. Timothy Behnke will officiate. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Friday, April 12 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Hidden Harvest or Faith Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the W. L.
