Polzin, Gary Joseph Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the age of 66 years. He was born June 7, 1951, in Saginaw, the son of Arlene (Katzenberger) and the late Robert Polzin. He grew up in St. Charles and graduated from St. Charles High School with the Class of 1969. He retired from Darling International. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and had served as Union Steward for many years. He was a member and Past Worthy President of the Carrollton - Zilwaukee Eagles Club, Aerie #4413, and also served as its Chaplain. He was a life member of VFW Post #1859 in Carrollton. Gary was a very hard working man, and could fix just about anything. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and trout fishing in Cooks, Michigan, in the Upper Peninsula. He enjoyed camping with his children and spending time with all of his neighbors. He loved where he lived with his wife, Cheryl, whom he married on September 30, 2017. Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Polzin; his children, Brian (Tina Kushion) Polzin and Angela (Daniel) Brubaker; grandchildren, Destiny, Dominik and Mason Polzin and Gabriel Lutzke; his mother, Arlene Polzin; siblings, Bobby Polzin, Sharon Zinn, Jerry (Gwen) Polzin, and Penny Quick; several other family members. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Polzin, brother Rodney Polzin and brothers-in-law, Louie Zinn and Jerry Quick. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will take place from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Carrollton - Zilwaukee Eagles Club Aerie #4413, 3600 Carrollton Road, in Carrollton.
