Gary L. Simerson Sr.

Simerson, Gary L. Sr. Saginaw, MI Our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, at the age of 76. Gary was born November 21, 1937, in St. Louis, MI to the late Ervin and Mae (Snyder) Simerson. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a welder for many locations the last being General Motors. He was a member of VFW Post #1566. He enjoyed sports, hunting, and fishing. He is survived by his children, Terri (Billy Osborne) Villanueva and Gary (Terri) Simerson; grandchildren, David Villanueva, Jeremy (Jessica) Simerson, Nathan Villanueva, and Toni Simerson; great-grandchildren, Antonio, Isaiah, Noah, Christopher, Kierra, Jaelyn, Danielle, Aidan, Payton, Ashton, and one on the way; step-grandchildren, Chris, Chad, Brent, and Breanna Osborne; 5 step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Marilyn Case, Shirley Glover, Darwin (Iris) Simerson, Darrell "Duff" (Jean) Simerson, and Richard (Donna) Simerson; many nieces and nephews; and friend and mother of his children, Patricia Simerson. He was predeceased by his great-granddaughter, Ellanie Rose Simerson; and brothers, Galen Simerson and Dwain Simerson. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. John Obrecht will officiate with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of VFW Post #1566. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday at the funeral home from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 1566.
