Gary Lee Bryan (Popeye)

BRYAN, GARY LEE (POPEYE) SAGINAW, MICHIGAN Passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018, at his home, at the age of 78 years. He was born November 29, 1939, in Lansing, Michigan, the son of the late Bernice (Taylor) and Earl Melvin Bryan. He served with the US Marine Corps and the US Navy. He had been employed as an electronic technician by Saginaw General Hospital, St. Marys of Michigan, and the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. He married Sally Lou Eddy, who predeceased him October 24, 2010. He was a member of American Legion Post #468, St. Charles, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Fleet Reserve Association, YMCA and Saginaw Field and Stream. He loved to sail. Surviving are a son, Russell Lee Bryan, and two granddaughters, Kristin Scates and Kelly Duyck, and by several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Rae, and by two brothers, Bernard and Walter Bryan. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Rev. Robert Richards will officiate with burial in Owen Cemetery. Military honors will be under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1859. His family will receive friends at the funeral chapel from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Monday June 25, 2018.
