Gary Lee Frost of Merrill, Michigan
Age 64
Passed away in his home surrounded by family on Sunday, April 17th, 2022. Born on September 22, 1957, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Kenneth & Cora (Doehring) Frost, Gary was a 1975 graduate from Merrill Community Schools. He was employed by General Motors as a Dynamic Vehicle Quality worker, retiring in February of 2022 after 40 years. Gary met the love of his life, Joann Dietrich, when he was young and quickly realized the two had been neighbors for most of his youth. The couple married on March 13th, 1982, and together taught their children what a loving and caring relationship looked like. Gary loved working on and showing cars, feeling a great sense of pride from his skill in automotive work, which he happily passed onto his children, and he treasured the time he spent riding motorcycles, especially when he was able to go on long rides with Joann. He was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed cutting wood, camping, his garden full of vegetables, yardwork, and riding around with his children and grandchildren on his tractor. It was that family which he so cherished, spending time playing games like hide and seek with them and helping teach them how to grow into the strong and loving people they would become. He was never shy about telling them how proud he was of their accomplishments, and how he would do anything to help them. He is remembered as being a strong but gentle and kind God-following man who was loving, thoughtful, and supportive.
Gary is survived by children Kyle (Tobi) Frost, Ryan (Caitlyn) Frost, and Amanda (Michael) Budge; grandchildren Danielle Gorsline, Elizabeth, Callen, Deacon, & Isaac Frost, and Abigail & Charles Budge; sister Kim Konyha; nephews David Starr and Kevin Konyha; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Gary was predeceased by his parents Kenneth & Cora (Doehring) Frost.
