Gary Lee Machette

Gary Lee Machette Carrollton, Michigan Passed away Sunday, July 8, 2018. Age 84 years. The son of the late Everette and Evelyn (Smith) Machette and grandson of Anna (Smith) and Wellington Smith; step-grandson of John Figger was born July 27, 1933 in Saginaw, Michigan. Gary graduated from Arthur Hill High School, Class of 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1956. He married Mary Sue Pritchett, June 21, 1958. She passed away January 27, 2018. Gary was employed by A&P Tea Company for 39 years, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed going to the Casino with his wife, golfing, fishing and bow hunting with his sons and friends. Surviving are a son, Scott and his wife, Lisa, step grandchildren, Tony, Chelsea, Kalie; step great grandchildren, Maddie, Mya, Bentley; A daughter, Tracy Carter; a son, Troy and his wife, Kim; granddaughter, Taylor; a niece, Lee Ann Sherman; a nephew, Kurt Munger; his best friend, Gary Harvey. He was also predeceased by a brother, Howard Machette and a sister Peggy Ann Munger. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. George Hernandez will officiate. Military honors will be under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859.
