Gary Neil Williams Sr. of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Covenant HealthCare - Cooper. He was 77 years old. Gary Neil Williams was born on January 28, 1944, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Alexander and Beatrice (Hill) Williams. Gary's love story began while attending a school Christmas program where he met the love of his life, Patricia Annette Kral. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on February 8, 1964; she survives him. He was employed with General Motors from 1962 until his retirement in 1994, following 32 years of dedicated and loyal service. Gary was a faithful member of Old Town Christian Outreach Center in Saginaw. He was a spiritual mentor to many throughout his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. Gary had a love for cars, especially fast cars and participated in drag races. He was proud of all the trophies he won at car shows over the years, showing his white 1995 Mustang Saleen. Gary had a life changing experience with Jesus, passionately bringing his family to the Faith. He loved reading and studying the Bible "God's Word" daily. Gary was a gifted woodworker and metal fabricator. He will forever be remembered for his loving acceptance for all people, being a father-figure to many, and for the selfless love he had for his family and friends.

Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Pat Williams of Saginaw; two daughters and one son: Anna (Kurt) Opel of Macomb and their children: David and Jonathan Opel; Katherine Ritchey of Saginaw and her daughter, Katrina Ritchey; Gary (Dawn) Williams Jr of Eugene, OR and their children: Alexis and Austin Williams; children and grandchildren taken in as their own, Jim and Wendy Matzke of Saginaw and their children, Payton, Makenna, Brynn, and Adelynn Matzke; and the late Carrie Sorensen and her daughter, Rosie Sorensen; two sisters: Doris Stoklosa of Saginaw; Joan Gianfortuna of Saginaw. He was also loved by many dear nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Honoring Gary's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service honoring Gary will be held at a later date.
