Passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, in Florida.  Age 83 years with his loving wife Marie, by his side.

He was the son of the late Blanche and Manley Oswald Esler was born June 9, 1940, in Saginaw, MI.  He married Marie M. Martin on July 12, 1956 and they were married for 67 years.  Gary was a Saginaw Fire Fighter, retiring after 28 years of service.  Gary was also employed by W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, retiring with 33 years of service. He was also a member of the Saginaw Valley Lodge #77 Free and Accepted Masons as a 32 Degree Mason.  He was also a member of the Bay City Consistory and the Elf Khurafeh Shrine Temple.  He was a past member of the Saginaw Choral Society and the Washington Society.

Surviving besides his wife, Marie, are two sons and their wives: Scott and Cindy Esler, Freeland, MI; Kirk and Kim Esler, Jacksonville Beach, Florida; a daughter-in-law Bonnie Esler, three grandsons: Derek and Andrew Esler, Price Helmreich; two great grandsons, Brett and Brendan Helmreich; two sisters and brother-in-laws Dave and Linda (Esler) Mitchell, Art and Janet (Esler) McIntrye.  Many nieces, nephews and friends.  A son, Dean Esler and a sister and brother-in-law Bonnie (Esler) and Donavan Morgan have predeceased him.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2023 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd.  Rev. Glenn McIntyre will officiate.  Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
