George E. Boyd Jr.

George E. Boyd Jr. Hemlock, Michigan Passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Covenant- Harrison. Age 82 years. The son of the late Ann (Wohlfeil) and George E. Boyd Sr. was born December 31, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Betty L. Nothelfer, May 26, 1956. She passed away January 17, 2005. He was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone, retiring after many years of service. He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and its Men's Club. George had served on the Hemlock School Board for several years. After his retirement, he had camped and worked at the River Valley Campground near Gladwin. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Kimberly and Rev. Carl Trosien, Essexville, MI; Karen and Bob Fiting, Freeland, MI; six grandchildren, Carl W. (Laura) Trosien; Stephanie (Don) Jones; Danielle Wilson; Casey (Julia) Fiting; Ryan Fiting and his friend, Jacquelyn Hernandez; Brandon Fiting; four great grandchildren, Cole and Taylor Trosien; Ty and Caleb Jones; two sisters and a brother, Georgiann Pussehl; Noda Joseph; Thomas and Carlene Boyd; a sister-in-law, Helen Nothelfer; several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Karla Boyd, two sisters, Emily Ruth and Patsy Boyd have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 2461 N. Raucholz Rd. Hemlock. Rev. Dr. William L. Morris will officiate with Military burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday and then at the Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
