George J. Day

Day, George J. Oscoda, MI formerly of Hemlock Passed away Monday, July 8, 2013, at Lakeview Manor in Oscoda, with his wife by his side at the age of 68. George was born February 22, 1945, in Saginaw to the late Percy and Olga (Trump) Day. He graduated from Hemlock High School in 1963. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea and Germany. He married Shirley Crisovan on September 3, 1994, she survives him. He enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, and the Detroit Tigers. He will be missed by his wife Shirley; his twin sister, Gerrie (John) Bacheller; nieces, Jill (Mitch) Wright and Joy (James) Barker; great-nephew, Gavin Wright; step-children, Mel (Kim) Herbert, Melany (Darryl) Chalker, Mechelle (Mike) Mahnke; grandchildren, Jerry, Cody, Mikayl, Shawna, Sabrina, Braeden; great-grandchildren, Bryan, Nathan, Alyssa, Evan, Scottie, Evena, Dane, Layla. He was predeceased by his first wife Mary; and his son George John "Chip" Day. Funeral services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at W.L. Case & Company 201 N. Miller Rd. Pastor Melany Chalker will officiate with burial to follow in Richland Twp. Cemetery under the auspice of VFW Post 7302 Hemlock/Merrill.
