George J. Doran

Passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the age of 90 years. He was born February 22, 1926 in Saginaw to the late Marcial and Belen (Pisano) Dominguez, one of 14 children. He served with the U. S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific during WWII. He married Patricia Riedy May 24, 1952; she predeceased him August 9, 1989. He had been employed as a carpenter by General Motors for 46 years and was a member of UAW Local #455. George was a member of St. Dominic Parish, SS Peter and Paul Church. Surviving are two sons, Michael (Susan) Doran, Grand Rapids; and Jeffrey Doran and Cindy Wiegand, Hemlock; six grandchildren, Megan, Amanda, Ashley, Anthony, Robert and David; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Isaac, Ethan and Alena; two brothers Lupe and Peter; many nieces and nephews; his son-in-law, Robert Rodriguez. He was predeceased by a daughter, Debora Rodriguez; a grandson, Jeffrey; and a daughter-in-law, Janice Doran. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016 at St. Dominic Parish, SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan. Rev. Steve Gavit will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit with family at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd., from 4:00 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
