Passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. Age 84 years.
George was born May 6, 1937, the son of the late Mary (Pollick) and Lee Siler in Merrill. He was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Class of 1956. He married Mary Pat Ryan, October 3, 1959. His wife of 61 years survives him. George was employed by Dow Chemical Company retiring with 32 years of service. Farming was his passion and he enjoyed working his land and watching his crops grow since 1964. He was a member of St. John XXIII Parish, St. Patrick church where he served as Sexton of St. Patrick Cemetery for many years.
Surviving besides his wife, Mary Pat, are six children and their spouses, Kristine and David Przybylski; Karen and Joe Carr; Ken and Tonya Siler; Don and Amy Siler; Steve and Michelle Siler; George Siler Jr. and Brandy; 13 grandchildren, Sarah Lieber, Diane Tolhurst, Ben Carr; Cameron and Brady Siler; Kelsey and Mitchell Siler; Deanna and Julia Przybylski; Meghan and Ryan Siler; Shannon and Bryan Siler; a great grandchild, Lyon Lieber; a brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Mary Kay Siler; a sister, Kathleen Jacobs; many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his step-mother, Madeline (Garrett) Siler and an infant daughter, Maureen Siler.
The funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021, at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Patrick Church. Rev. Michael Steltenkamp will officiate with burial in St. Patrick Cemetery. Friends may visit with family at St. Patrick Church Hall from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday June 23, 2021. Friends may also call at the Church from 10:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of the funeral liturgy.
