George L. Burrows

Passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, December 29, 2021. Age 93 years.
The son of the late Lydia (Andrews) and George L. Burrows III. was born January 1, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School, received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Montana and his Master’s degree from the University of Michigan. He served in the U. S. Army and was a proud member of the Korean War Veteran’s Association. A lifelong resident of Saginaw, Mr. Burrows taught at Bridgeport High School, retiring with 26 years of service. He was a member of First Congregational Church. George was an avid botanist, traveling the world in search of exotic and unusual plants to photograph. He enjoyed spending time at Higgins Lake and showing his restored Studebaker Car.
Surviving are his brother, William Dickinson Burrows; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Louise Burrows Heilbronn. George will always be remembered for his kind heart, infectious smile and sense of humor.
Cremation has taken place. In accordance with George’s wishes, his ashes will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
