Gerald Allen Sieggreen MD

SIEGGREEN, Gerald Allen of Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away on Monday, May 20, 2019, at his daughters home with his family at his side. He was 80 years old. Gerald Allen Sieggreen was born at his home on July 27, 1938 in Carrollton, Michigan to the late Emil and Anna (Wojcik) Sieggreen. He was raised in Carrollton and attended Arthur Hill High School, Bay City Junior College, and Wayne State University where he received his Doctorate of Medicine in 1963. He married Alice Marie Wolohan on August 19, 1961 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Birch Run. She passed away, April 20, 2011. Gerald devoted his life to his family, friends, and his medical profession. Gerald Sieggreen joined Womens OB-GYN in 1970, where he worked until his retirement in 2012. After receiving his medical degree, he served as Captain in the Medical Corps U.S. Army, from 1964-1966, during the Vietnam War as a surgeon in a MASH unit. Gerald was an assistant clinical professor at Michigan State University and was also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. His patients, family, and friends remember his gentle smile, sense of humor, and calm nature. He especially enjoyed exercise, golfing, and playing cards. Surviving are his children: John Sieggreen, Anna Sieggreen-Beins, Angela O'Hare, Mary Alice (Stephen) Dombrowski and his 11 grandchildren: Alicia, Charlotte (Sam) Wells, Henry, Emily, Hunter, Helen, Isabelle, Walter, John, Allison, and Marilyn. FUNERAL: Gerrys Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd. Rev. Fr. Robert Byrne will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Military honors under the auspices of V.F.W. Post #1859 at 2:00 p.m. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Saginaw, on Wednesday evening 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A "Time of Remembrance" will take place on Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. Gerald will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
