Gerald E. Malone Hemlock, Michigan
Passed away with his loving family at his side on Monday, July 25, 2016, age 83 years. He was born on February 25, 1933, son of the late Arthur and Bertha (Gilbert) Malone, in Flint. He married Lou Ellen Campau on August 18, 2001, she survives him. Jerry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He graduated from Michigan State University having earned a Master's degree in Agriculture. He retired from the USDA as a soil and water conservationist after many years of service. Jerry extended his love of nature and the outdoors to many students teaching at many area community colleges and 4-H programs. He enjoyed gardening, camping, photography, taking walks and cared about his health and fitness. Jerry loved spending time with his family and playing ball with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife Lou Ellen, he is survived by his children, Elaine (Rodney) McKibbin, Gary (Hope) Malone, Dale (Lori) Malone, Sarah (Steve) Krim and Cheryl (Jim) Andrus; his many grandchildren and great grandchildren and his brother, Dallas Malone. He was predeceased by the mother of his children, Norma Jean Malone "Bobbie". The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at New Hope Valley.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 29, 2016 at W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Road. Chaplain Wayne Shidler will officiate with burial in Richland Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Saginaw County 4-H Club or Heartland Hospice.
