Kubik, Gerald Edward Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Monday, September 16, 2013 at his home, age 86 years. Gerald was born in Saginaw, Michigan December 26, 1926 the son of the late Wayne and Myrtle (Huntsberger) Kubik. He married Wanite Challenger April 28, 1951 and she survives him. Gerald served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of VFW Post No. 9809 and he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He retired from Saginaw Valley Floral Exchange after 40 years of service. In addition to his wife, Wanite, Gerald is survived by four children, Russell Kubik, Tim (Patricia) Kubik, Mary Kubik and Mike Kubik; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Martha Kubik; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph Kubik; a grandson; a daughter-in-law, Lori Kubik; a brother, Harold Hoffman and a sister, Betty Reava. The funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2013 at W. L. Case & Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate with military burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the auspices of American Legion Post 439. Friends may visit with the family at the chapel Friday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the family wishes.
