Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper, with his family at his side. Age 90 years.
The son of the late Harry A. and Valaria G. (Paradowski) Bourbina, Jerry was born on February 7, 1935, in Monroe, Michigan. He graduated from Saginaw High School, Class of 1953. Jerry proudly served in the United States Army, until he was honorably discharged. He married Mary “Patt” Call on July 7, 1956. She survives him. Jerry worked as a mechanical engineer, retiring on June 2, 1995, after many years of loyal and dedicated service. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church since 1975. Earlier in life, Jerry enjoyed playing baseball, and later watching baseball and football. He created lasting memories traveling with his wife, Patt. They had visited all of the casinos within the state of Michigan as well as many other states. Above all, Jerry cherished the time spent with his family.
Surviving besides his wife, Patt Bourbina, are their sons, Roger (Mary), Michael (Mary), William (Saundra) and Kenneth (Angie); eighteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; brothers, Harry Bourbina, Donald (Fran) Bourbina; and brother-in-law, Richard (Maureen) Call. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his daughters, Donna Bourbina, Janie Bourbina; father and mother-in-law, Roger and Pauline Call; daughter-in-law, Denice Bourbina; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Bourbina, Barb Bourbina, Robert and Shirley Call, Roger Call, Donald Call.
Honoring Jerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 1035 N. River Rd, Saginaw, MI 48609. Rev. Fr. Peter J. Gaspeny will officiate. Military Honors will take place under the auspices of the United States Army and American Legion Post 22. Visitation will take place from 10:00 am until the time of mass on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
