Gerald "Jerry" Duane Hutchison

Beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 23, 2023, at his home in Saginaw Township, at the age of 88. Jerry was born on October 15, 1935, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Milton & Bertha (Alberts) Hutchison, and graduated from Saginaw High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1956. After his service, Jerry spent his working years with General Motors, retiring as a General Foreman. He married Karen A. Hutchison on September 20, 1958, and the couple celebrated 58 years of marriage together. She preceded him in death on October 21, 2016. In his free time, Jerry stayed active golfing and loved watching football, especially the Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan. He was also an active member of the Pulaski Club and considered it his favorite hangout. Jerry is remembered for having a kind and loving heart, and his family will always cherish the memory of “King Jerry.”

Surviving are two daughters and one son, Jill A. (Jim) Hozeska, Saginaw; Duane W. Hutchison, Hillsboro Beach, Florida; Sondra K. Dinninger, Saginaw, MI; four grandchildren, Nicholas Gerald Hozeska, Saginaw, MI; Brandon J. (Kristi) Hozeska, Holland, MI; Allison K. Hozeska, Holly, MI; Lauren M. (Jake) Marcotte, Phoenix, AZ; six great-grandchildren, Mason, Nora, Levi, Spencer, Jaxson and Owen; two sisters Helen Kostrzewa, Hemlock, MI, and Arlene Williams Houghton Lake, MI; and one sister-in-law, Janice D. Hotchkiss, Hillsboro Beach, Florida; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Karen; three brothers, Milton Hutchison Jr., Bob Hutchison, Jack Hutchison; and sister Jean Rank.

In keeping with Jerry’s wishes, cremation is to take place, with a memorial service planned for 1:00pm on Friday, December 29^th, 2023, at W.L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd, Saginaw, MI 48603. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 11:00am until the time of service.
