Morningstar, Gerald Hope, Michigan Went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center in Midland, at the age of 74 years. He was born September 1, 1943, in Merrill, Michigan, the son of the late Daniel and Frances (Zaleski) Morningstar. He was a hard-working man who retired from Saginaw Steering Gear Plant 2 after 31 years of service. Eleven years ago, he moved to Wixom Lake to follow his life-long dream of life on the water and fishing. He was a member of the Catholic Faith. He leaves behind his wife, Alyce Anne (Tedhams) Morningstar; one sister, Edith Schoof; sons, Nick (Mary) Morningstar, Scott (Michael) Morningstar, and Timothy P. (Ric) Morningstar; daughter, Debra (Thomas) Ciszewski; grandchildren, Zackary Morningstar, Timothy A. (Bethany) Morningstar, Nicole (Omar) Reyes; great-grandchildren, Gage and Laney; step-children, Cheri (Ron) Baird; Brian Lynch; Brett (Billie) Lynch; step-grandchildren, Nicole Lynch, Trammell (Alyssa) Lynch, Brian (Amelia) Lynch, Jr., Jessica Lynch, Austin Tuck, Leslie Saroya and Isha Saroya; friends, Ron, Betty, Patty, Wanda and Phil, who will always have a special place in the family. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Frances; brother, Dan; sister, Shirley; and his wife of 43 years, Patricia Morningstar. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, Saginaw, 48609. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Private committal will be held in the Billings Township Cemetery, Albright Shores, Michigan. Friends may call at the chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, and then from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of service.
