Passed away Saturday, March 11, 2017 at HealthSource at the age of 82 years. He was born April 3, 1934 in Saginaw to the late John A. and Fay (Scull) Rooker. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1952 and then attended Michigan State University. He was self-employed as a horse trainer and horse shoer. He served with the U. S. Army in Germany. He married Jean Parish on April 30, 1960; she survives him. Also surviving are two sons and one daughter, Scott Rooker, Saginaw; Shawn (Carmelle) Rooker, Fenton; Stephanie Rooker, Saginaw; three grandchildren Makenna, Noah and Ashley; three brothers and two sisters, Dr. James (Jeanne) Rooker, Dr. William (Sandy) Rooker, Dr. John K. Rooker, Margaret Gehl, and Shirley (Ronald) Gavenda; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Robert Parish, Gerald Gehl and Jane Rooker; also by one nephew, Thomas Rooker. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 12 noon Tuesday until the time of service.
