Pratt, Gladys M. St. Charles, Michigan
Passed away on Sunday, November 03, 2013 at her home with her loving family members by her side at the age of 86. The daughter of the late Lewis and Hattie (Marsh) Hopkins, Gladys was born March 15, 1927 in Bushnell Township, Montcalm County, Michigan. She married Arlo George (Pete) Pratt in Wheeler, Michigan on September 15, 1945; he predeceased her on June 24, 2007. Gladys had been a Stanley Home Products salesperson for several years while also helping with the family farm. For many years there was the family garden produce that she would can which would include spaghetti sauce, dill pickles and much more to be enjoyed by her family. When most people came for dinner it was to have her famous homemade noodles with beef. She enjoyed watching and listening to the Tiger baseball games and also loved to quilt and crochet, making them for family members as well as numerous baby quilts for gifts. She loved to watch her grandchildren in their school sporting events. Those who cherish her memory include: two sons and a daughter-in-law Jerry (Paula) Pratt of Mt. Pleasant, Dan Pratt of St. Charles and Bonnie Pratt of Burt; four grandchildren Kara Damm of Burt, Kyle Pratt of Massachusetts, Eric (Veronica) Pratt of Merrill and Jason Pratt of Merrill; three step-grandsons and their spouses and one step-granddaughter and her spouse; great-grandchildren: Brenden Pratt, Devon Pratt, Matthew Pratt, Taryn Pratt, Kadence Damm, Seth Damm, Levi Pratt, Kristyn Pratt and Cyrus Pratt as well as nine great-step grandchildren; a sister Andrea Packer of Greenville; several nieces and nephews. Gladys was predeceased by a son Dale of Burt, two brothers Kenneth and Maynard and two sisters Rose Mary and Madeline as well as all of her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at W. L. Case and Company, Merrill. Rev. Carl Otto will officiate with burial at Lakefield Township Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral chapel on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
