Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at Meadow Lane Assisted Living in Bad Axe. She was 91 years old. Gladys LeBaron was born on October 20, 1931, in Alma, Michigan, to the late Dewey and Nora (Mockridge) LeBaron. She was a 1949 graduate of Alma High School. Gladys met the love of her life, Stanley Prahin, while attending a square dance. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on June 25, 1949, in Alma; he preceded her in death on December 1, 2010. The role of her lifetime was to be a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was employed as a secretary for Gambles and later with the Caro Building Center, retiring after many years of dedicated services. Gladys was an excellent cook and often used what she grew in the garden to prepare meals. She enjoyed going to the casino, working on puzzles and was an avid reader. Gladys was a gifted sewer and created many beautiful quilts throughout her lifetime. She will fondly remember by her family nickname, "Corky", for her quiet, reserved, yet expressive disposition, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Surviving are a daughter and two sons, Cathy (Lanny) Bensinger of Ubly; Butch Stanley Prahin of Saginaw; Rodney (Anne) Prahin of Mayville; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two sisters: Margi and Linda.
