Grant Emil Love

Grant Emil Love of Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. He was 64 years old. Grant Emil Love was born on May 3, 1959, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Erland "Curly" and Janet Ann (Richardson) Love. He was a 1977 graduate of Carrollton High School. Following graduation, Grant began working at CSX Railroad, where he studied for four years at their school in Cincinnati, Ohio; retiring as a Signal Maintainer in 2019, after 42 years of loyal and dedicated service. Working for the railroad, Grant served as a Union Representative helping others, and he was able to travel throughout the United States. He met the love of his life, Angela "Angie" Lynn Robinson, while in high school, whom he loved "to the moon and back". They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage of August 1, 1980; she survives him. The role of his lifetime, one he treasured and cherished, was to be the most loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather in the entire world. Grant was raised within the Catholic Church and attended the former St. Matthew Catholic Church in Zilwaukee. He found peace and tranquility in nature, often spending long hours in his deer blind watching the animals and hunting. Grant also enjoyed testing his luck by going to the casino. Anyone that knew him knew he showed his love by picking on and pranking you. Though he could be a private man, he will forever be remembered for his love of family, especially his grandchildren, for his indomitable spirit, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Angie L. Love of Saginaw; a daughter, Samantha (Matt) Dennings of Saginaw; a son, Daniel (Holly) Love of Fort Worth, TX; ten grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother, Dan (Nancy) Love of Rose City; a sister, Kathy (Dave) Bicigo of Freeland. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by parents, Earland "Curly" and Janet Love. Honoring Grant's wishes, cremation has taken place.
