Gretchen Lauer Lutz Breckenridge, MI Passed over to be with the Lord on July 19, 2015, at the age of 92 years. Gretchen was born July 23, 1922, in Lafayette Township to the late Elmer and Emma (Burch) Russell. She married Charles Lauer on November 28, 1940; he predeceased her June 13, 1963. She then married Lawrence Lutz on August 30, 1969; he predeceased her January 12, 1982. She enjoyed crocheting and shuffleboard. She was a very active, spirited, lively lady that enjoyed playing pranks. She is survived by her children, Arthur (Betty) Lauer, Clara Lauer, Edna Marks, and Barry Jones; grandchildren, Christina (Jeff) Allen, Lori (Ricky) Cody, Joseph Lauer, Scott Lauer, Dean (Nicole) Lauer, James Brock, Juanita (Ted) Hinterman, Troy (Mary) Lauer, Darinda (Steve) Eastman, Price (Paula) Lauer; 22 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Betty J. Lauer and son-in-law, David Hughes. She was predeceased by her children, Charles Lauer, Wilbur Lauer, and Elizabeth Hughes; grandchildren, Tracy Hughes-Brock and Charles L. Lauer Jr.; son-in-law, Michael Marks; and 10 siblings. Funeral services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015, at W.L. Case & Company 125 E. Saginaw St. in Merrill. Rev. Edward Kreh will officiate with burial to follow in Lafayette Twp. Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 12:00 noon until the time of service.
