Gustav William Schulwitz (Gus) Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Monday, October 8, 2018, at Wellspring Lutheran Services (formerly Meadowview Manor). Age 78 years. The son of the late Wilma Marie (Schearer) and Carl Gustav Schulwitz was born February 19, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Arthur Hill High School in 1958. He then received his Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Michigan. He married Bonnie Smith on June 30, 1966. She predeceased him, August 30, 1990. Gus was employed by General Motors, Saginaw Division as an Electrical Engineer retiring with 27 years of service. He was a member of the Saginaw Country Club and attended First Congregational Church. Gus was an avid supporter of the University of Michigan Football, serving as student team manager in 1963, being a longtime member of the Victors Club, and attending all home games for more than four decades. Gus devoted much of his life to community service. He served as President of the Golfside Homeowners Association for 35 years where he proudly resided nearly his entire life. He sat on the Trout Creek Condominium Board in Harbor Springs, Michigan. He was a longtime member of the Saginaw Master Gardeners Association and volunteered thousands of hours at the Saginaw Childrens Zoo, Dow Gardens and Anderson Enrichment Center. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kara and Joshua Webb, Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Graham, Ansley and Parker; a brother, Nik Schulwitz; a sister-in-law, Susanne Novak; a nephew and niece, David and Lora Schulwitz. In accordance with Gus wishes, a private family entombment took place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at 4:00pm at the Anderson Enrichment Center.
