Guy Edward Pardike of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved husband and father passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Hoyt Nursing and Rehab Centre following a short illness at age 92. Guy was born on March 4, 1927, in Rogers City, Michigan, to the late Theodore and Mary (Schleben) Pardike. On April 10, 1954, he married Ann Pardridge in Saginaw, Michigan, at Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church. This past April they observed 65 years of marriage. On coming to this area, Guy taught 6th grade at Shields School and was later employed at Morley Brothers Wholesale Division, Prudential Insurance, and retired from the State of Michigan as a supervisor in the Department of Social Services. He served as a board member on Saginaw County Mental Health, as well as volunteering for years at Valley State Employees Credit Union as chairman of the credit committee. Guy was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He was proud of being co-captain of his 1943 Rogers City High School football team and was an avid fan of Michigan college and professional baseball and football teams. Guy also enjoyed nature, especially hunting with his brothers on their property.
Along with his wife, Ann M. Pardike, he is survived by his beloved daughter, Wendy Pardike and her partner, Sherman Lightner; two sisters-in-law: Jane Franz and Nancy Moore. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters and their spouses: Merlin, Marlow, Norman, Harold, Robert, Ted Jr., Elva Werth, Rosemary McDonald and Virginia Srodes.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2019, at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Roger Stauffer will officiate with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
