Harold Ellsworth
Saginaw, Michigan
Passed away on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the age of 85 years.
Harold was born on September 26, 1938, son of the late Ethel (Bieri) and Hiram Ellsworth, Sr., in Saginaw. He married Sandra Beckmann on December 17, 1960. She survives him. He was a graduate of Alma College, Class of 1961, earning a Bachelors in Education and Michigan State University, having earned a Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership. Harold retired from the Carrollton Public School District, with over 30 years of dedicated service as an educator and administrator. He was a member of Michigan Avenue Baptist Church; served as a Trustee and Deacon. Harold also served his community where he was a member of the Carrollton and Kochville Lions Club, enjoyed camping and traveling. Harold’s biggest joy was his family, they meant the world to him. He was a very loving, supportive, encouraging husband and father. He will be remembered for being fiercely independent; having the drive to overcome any obstacle or disability, having been a Polio Survivor.
Harold will be missed by his loving wife, Sandra Ellsworth; daughter, Heather (Kurt) Ballien of Alma, MI; son, Joshua (Carol) Ellsworth of Hubert, NC; grandchildren, Cameron, Adam, Devin, Kearstyn (Joseph Spencer), Noah and Liam; brothers, Hiram “Terry” Ellsworth, Jr. and David Ellsworth; sister, Pamela (Thomas) Graham; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Harold was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Connie Ellsworth, sisters-in-law, Diane and Lois Ellsworth.
Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Pastor Carol McCleary will officiate. Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the March of Dimes or Michigan Avenue Baptist Church.
