Harold Meyer

Beloved husband and father, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at home. Harold Meyer was born June 18, 1927, in Saginaw, the youngest child of the late Adam and Katherine (Usinger) Meyer. On June 21, 1947, he married Delorys Walt and they enjoyed 69 years of married life. She survives him. Along with his two brothers, Harold owned and operated Adam Meyer and Sons Painting & Decorating. He retired from the business in 1999. Harold was an avid golfer and was formerly a long-time member of the Saginaw Country Club. He was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, a current member of the Fordney Club, and a former member of the Saginaw Township Lion's Club. Surviving besides his wife are: a son and two daughters, Gary Meyer of Chattanooga, TN, Kathy (Don) Kettles of Lansing, and Lisa (Larry) Kickham of Saginaw; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren with whom he loved spending time, Harold K. Meyer and Leigh W. (Justin) Broxton, both of Chattanooga, TN, Richard (Joy) Kettles and Katherine Kettles, both of Lansing, and Laura Kickham and Molly Kickham of Saginaw; two special great-grandchildren, Jaxie Broxton and Brianna Kettles; and many nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Harold was a lovable character and will be dearly missed. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2100 Brockway. Pastor Tim Bender will officiate with private burial to follow. Friends may call on the family on Thursday from 3:00 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 8:00 p.m. at the W. L. Case Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road and on Friday at the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
