Passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 1, 2017 at Covenant Cooper at the age of 69 years. He was born September 1, 1947 in Saginaw to the late John J. and Clara V. (Jozwiak) Kostick. He served with the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. Harold had been employed as a machinist at Dixie Tool & Die and had also worked at Stanley Steemer. Harry was a member of American Legion Post 439. He married Linda Rettinger on September 1, 1979 and she survives him. Harry loved the Peanut Gang comics and enjoyed sports and loved watching the Detroit teams. Besides his wife, Linda, he is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Shane and Frances Kostick, Saginaw; four grandchildren, Alexandra Thompson, Nathaniel Felton-Kostick, Isabelle Kostick and Charleigh Kostick; one great-grandson, Edmund Thompson; three sisters and two brothers, Jacqueline O'Dell, John (Patricia) Kostick, Sandra (Petro) Ahejew, Marsha (James) Johnroe, and Thomas Kostick; his siblings-in-law: Gene (Shirley) Rettinger, Nancy (Louie) Becker, Marcia Kostick, many nieces, nephews, friends and his faithful dog, Ruger. He was predeceased by one brother, George Kostick, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Donald and Lucille Rettinger, and a brother-in-law: Thomas O'Dell. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Peace Lutheran Church, 3427 Adams Ave. Rev. Matthew Hauser will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the wishes of the family or a charity of your choice.
