Harold Ralph Fuhrmann Saginaw, Michigan Passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017, at Saginaw Senior Care. Age 91 years. Harold was the son of Herman and Myrtle (Patnode) Fuhrmann. He was born on April 6, 1925 in Elmwood, WI. He became a child of God through baptism at Zion Lutheran Church of Eau Galle, WI. He grew up in Elmwood and upon graduation from high school was drafted into the army during World War II. He became a radio operator gunner on a B-24 bomber with the 15th Airforce, flying 32 missions out of Italy. He reached the rank of T/Sgt. He was a member of American Legion Post #439. After the war, he continued his education at Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. After graduation, he taught school in Stanton, NE; Jenera, OH; South Milwaukee, WI; and Wauwatosa, WI. In 1950 he married Hertha nee Henning. Harold retired from teaching in 1985 and he and Hertha moved to Saginaw, MI. While living in Saginaw they had been members at St. Paul Lutheran in Saginaw and St. John Lutheran in Zilwaukee. Harold is preceded in death by his wife Hertha and his brother William. He leaves to mourn his children Joyce (Paul) Schultz and Anita Fuhrmann, living in Saginaw as well as grandchildren Jonathan Schultz of Occidental, CA; David Schultz of Ionia, MI; Joanne (Gabe) Fall of Vassar, MI; and great-grandson Collin Fall. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at St. John Lutheran Church, 318 Franklin St., Zilwaukee, MI. Rev. Marcus P. Manthey will officiate. Military interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery under the auspices of American Legion Post 439. Blessed are they who die trusting in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Friends may call at the W. L.
