Harold William Sawatzki

Beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away with his family by his side on Monday, May 8th, 2023, in Saginaw, Michigan, at the age of 82. Harold was born in Saginaw on March 9th, 1941, to the late Leo and Grace (Tagget) Sawatzki and was a 1959 graduate of Saginaw High School. After high school, he continued his education by studying agriculture at Michigan State University. Harold was a farmer, contractor, and businessman, co-owning the Frame Shop and Gallery with his former wife Sandra. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, tending to his garden of fruits and veggies, and riding his motorcycle. Harold is remembered as being a happy man who was the life of the party and always had a joke to tell. He was a calming force among his family and friends and was always there to put things back together.

Harold is survived by daughter Kimberly Sawatzki and her husband Frederick Jones; granddaughters Josephine Sawatzki, USMC, and Caroline Sawatzki; and brother Timothy Sawatzki; as well as many nieces, nephews, other family members, and beloved childhood friend Susan Reis Kennedy.

Harold was preceded in death by son Paul Harold Sawatzki; brothers Leo Marvin Sawatzki and Terry Dean Sawatzki; and sister-in-law Susan Marie Sawatzki.

In accordance with Harold’s wishes, cremation is to take place, with a memorial gathering for close family and friends planned for a later date. Memorial contributions are requested to the Marine Corps League - John C. Rock Detachment #902 in honor of his granddaughter’s service. Please share your thoughts, prayers, and memories with the family at www.casefuneralhome.com.
