Harry Earl Varney Bridgeport, Michigan
Beloved husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Monday, August 28, 2017, age 77 years. He was born on August 26, 1940, son of the late Sidney and Louise (Pomeraning) Varney, in Saginaw. He married Deborah Baumgartner on May 4, 1968, she survives him. Harry served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and was very proud of his accomplishments, Semper Fi! He retired from General Motors, Grey Iron Foundry after many years of service and was a member of the U.A.W. Local #668.
Besides his loving wife Deborah, he is survived by his children, Harry (Debbie) Varney, Jr. and Melissa (Brian) Morel; ten grandchildren, Toni, Tabatha, Harry III, Duke, Nick, Terra, Michael M., Michael V., Shelby and Megan; eleven great grandchildren, Felicia, Alexis, Anika, Xavier, Natalie, Gracelynn, Madilynne, Cayden, Gabriel, Maci and Adria; his sister, Donna; sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances, George and Kerrie, Mike and Rosie, Brenda and Jim, Becky and Rusty, Sue and Jim, Chris and Andy; his mother-in-law, Genevieve and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He was predeceased by his son Michael, brothers, Harold, Lavern, Paul and Kenny; sisters, Mildred, Dorothy and Evelyn and father-in-law, George.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at W. L. Case and Company, 5700 Dixie Highway. Military honors will be rendered with burial in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Alzheimers Association.
