Harvey H. "Captain Ofa" Curtis of Saginaw, Michigan
Passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, at Ascension St. Marys Hospital. He was 70 years old. Harvey Henry Curtis was born on August 15, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Harvey Homer and Mae (Leonard) Curtis. He was a longtime member of Shields Church of the Nazarene. Captain Ofa, as he was known, enjoyed the peace and tranquility that fishing brought to his life. He was an avid sports fan, always cheering for the Detroit teams. Captain Ofa took great pleasure listening to Elvis and going for car rides. Above all, he loved and cherished his family. He will forever be remembered for his extraordinary sense of humor and ability to make others laugh in their darkest moments, and his selflessness to family and friends.
Surviving are two sons and one daughter: Mitcheal Curtis of Saginaw; Destiny (Brian) Howey of Saginaw; Brandon Curtis of Saginaw. Also surviving are many grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends; sister, Deborah (Wayne) Stevens of Saginaw; brother, Charles Curtis, Sr., of Saginaw; mother-in-law, Margaret Love of Saginaw; half sister, Barbara Cantrell.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alice Curtis; two sisters, Marlene Ray; Arlene Curtis.
A Graveside Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens, 7475 E. Holland, Saginaw, Michigan, 48603. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Barbara Cantrell.
