Helen Agnes Makara (Arch) Freeland, Michigan Passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Stonecrest Assisted Living, Freeland. Age 91 years. The daughter of the late Harry and Martha (Szarenski) Pennow was born October 19, 1924 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She married Floyd Arch, June 24, 1943. He passed away August 26, 1984. Later she married Stephen Makara, May 17, 1986. He also predeceased her November 10, 1986. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Freeland. Surviving are a son, a daughter and their spouses, Jerry and Janet Arch, Freeland, MI; Sharon and David Hawley, Saginaw, MI; five grandchildren and their spouses, Christine Goodeman; Michele and Ted Janiuk; Tammy Hawley; Corinne and Tom Provoast; Brandi Hawley; eight great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Jessica, Brennan, Kathleen, Elijah, Trent, Gabriella and Claire. Helen was predeceased by a granddaughter, Tricia Hawley, and her step-father, Omar Schwartz. The funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 335 Johnson St. Freeland, MI. Rev. Robert DeLand will officiate with burial in Mt.
