Gulliver, Helen Irene of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 81 years old. Helen Irene Davis was born on May 28, 1937 in Roscommon, Michigan to the late Willard and Myrtle (Carrick) Davis.
Helen was a wonderful soul. She was so full of love for everything she did and everyone she knew. She was born with this amazing gift to always see the good in people. Above all she loved life, lived it to its fullest, as well as loved and adored her family. She will forever be remembered for living simply, loving generously, caring deeply and speaking kindly. In this crazy beautiful world she taught her family to live, laugh, and love with all your heart, because we only get one life to live.
Surviving are three children: Terri (Ronald) Schmidt of St. Charles, Mark (Joy) Gulliver of Wheeler and Kristine Gulliver of Saginaw; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; two sisters and three brothers: Betty (William) Hofmann, Joyce Fisher, Bill (Bobbi Sue) Davis, James (Beth) Davis and Charlie (Mary) Davis; three special friends: Dorrine Buddle, Selma Claycomb and Rosemary Gulliver. Also surviving are her church family, dancing family and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Wallace Lee Gulliver, her parents, Willard and Myrtle Davis; an infant sister, Josephine Davis; and a grandson, Lee Gulliver.
A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Swan Valley United Methodist Church, 9265 Geddes Road. Rev. Rob Richards will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Road on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
Honoring Helens wishes cremation will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Primary Peritoneal Research Cancer Foundation or to Swan Valley United Methodist Church.
