Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at Brian's House. She was 69 years old. Helen Janet Luebben was born on July 23, 1952, in Alpena, Michigan, to the late Rolland Gerhardt and Christina Marie (Craner) Luebben. She was a 1970 graduate of Alcona High School. Helen married Almon Bedell, the father of her children. She later married Jimmy "Mac" McClellan on May 25, 1991, in Saginaw; he survives her. Helen was the owner and operator of Old Town Laundry for 30 years. She was also the co-owner and bookkeeper of Mac's Windows and Doors for 30 years. Helen was fundamental in all aspects for the redevelopment of historic buildings in Old Town Saginaw. She found peace and tranquility in nature, often spending time tending to her gardens, and enjoyed being outdoors with family and friends. She had an adventurous spirit, loved to travel, and was always willing to take a new trip down an old road. She left her indelible mark in this world for her love, care, and rescuing spirit. Above all, Helen treasured and cherished her family. She had a priceless and profound soul and will forever be remembered for her selflessness in the rescuing of animals and the love she had for her family.
Surviving are her husband of 30 years, Jimmy "Mac" McClellan of Saginaw; her beloved cocker spaniel, Kady; a son and daughter, Cary Brent Bedell of Saginaw; Amy Lynn (Mike) Mueller of Munger; step-daughter, Lori Andrews of Carrollton; grandson, Justin Mueller of Munger; sister, Ann Harmon; three brothers: William "Bill" Yax, Rolland (Julie) Luebben, and Tom Luebben. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolland and Christina Luebben; sister, Dorothy (Ron) Gibbs; brother, Laverene Yax; and a stepson, Jeffery McClellan.
Honoring Helen's wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Ted McCulloch will officiate. Friends are welcome to visit the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Brian's House or Compassus Hospice.
