Flores, Helen Louise (Florey) Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away Friday night February 13, 2015, at HealthSource, Saginaw, MI. She was born August 10, 1922 in Saginaw to the late Carl W. Lamb Sr., and Susan Helen McLeod (nee Martha Gladys Denczyk). She married Daniel S. Flores on December 24, 1946 in Toledo, Ohio. He passed away December 11, 1998. She was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. In addition to her grandchildren, Aunt Huno was a babysitter and a playmate to the many nieces and nephews for three generations of her family. She also became a caregiver to many in her family in their senior years. Louise was a devout Catholic and daily communicant most of her adult life. She taught catechism for many years at Our Lady Help Of Christians Parish. She was a long time member of the Legion of Mary and held numerous officer positions. Louise had a deep affection for Our Blessed Mother and prayed the rosary daily. Because of her love of genealogy and her collection of family photographs and documents, she was truly the family historian. Throughout the year, she watched and fed the birds and animals that frequented her backyard. She leaves to cherish her memories her son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Linda Florey, Grand Haven, MI; two grandchildren, Dan Florey, Sunnyvale, CA, and Crisanta Vogan (Ralph), Muskegon, MI; two great grandchildren, Noelle and Savannah Vogan; also, one brother, Howard Lamb, Bridgeport, MI, and one sister, DixieLee Cummings, Bay City, MI. Many nieces and nephews, Diane Schomaker, Candace and Scott Cummings, Donald, Kenneth, and Kevin Lamb, and Lorredana Harrison; five special friends, Bernie Eaves, Agnes Mazur and her son Bobby, Pam Gase and her daughter Alison. She was predeceased by two brothers, Carl and Donald Lamb, two sisters-in-law, Mary and Donna Lamb, one brother-in-law, Russ Cummings. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015, at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate. Friends and family may call at W.L Case & Co. Funeral Chapel, 201 N Miller Rd. from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be prayed at 3 p.m. and a prayer service led by pastoral associate, Amy Roe at 5 p.m. The family wishes to express thanks to the nursing and medical staff at HealthSource.
