Helen M. Ciaramitaro

Ciaramitaro, Helen M. Saginaw, Michigan Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Covenant - Cooper, at the age of 99 years. Helen Marie Lewandowski was born April 10, 1918, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Rose (Strzynski) and Leo Lewandowski. Her biological father Walter Kobulezak passed away during WWI. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1935. She married Leo Ciaramitaro on September 30, 1939; he predeceased her November 3, 2011. Helen and Leo owned and operated Spotless Dry Cleaners. She had been a member of Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Andrew Church and the League of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge 2456 and the Exchange Club. Helen loved to crochet, sew, do crossword puzzles and watch game shows. She was an avid sports fan, enjoying tennis, baseball and football. She had belonged to a bowling and golf league. Surviving are three daughters and one son, Nicolette (Gary) Blakeslee, Boyne City, MI; Rosemary (Dennis) Cherry, St. Charles, MI; Nancy (Robert) Kaufman, Saginaw, MI; Roland (Shirley) Ciaramitaro, Olmsted Falls, OH. Another son, William Ciaramitaro predeceased her. She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Rita Ciaramitaro; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and their families; many special friends. In addition to her husband and son, she was predeceased by a brother, Edward Lee, and by a sister, Irene Gielczyk. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2018, at Christ the Good Shepherd Parish, St. Andrew Church, 612 N. Michigan Avenue. Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate with entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. Sunday where a parish vigil will take place at 7:00 Sunday. Family and friends may then gather at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
