Sullivan, Helen M. Saginaw, Michigan Passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the age of 90 years. The daughter of the late Frederick and Helen M. (Haumann) York was born on December 24, 1923 in Saginaw. She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing as an RN. She married Jerry Sullivan, he predeceased her in 1981. Helen loved working as an RN and did so in several capacities, she served as an Army Nurse Cadet, worked for Chrysler Corporation as a plant nurse for over 30 years, and Michigan Lutheran Seminary as a school nurse until she retired in her early 80's. She continued to volunteer her time at St. Mary's of Michigan's Cancer ward. Helen was a member of St. Luke Ev. Lutheran Church, St. Luke's Esther Guild, General Occupational Health Nurse Association of Detroit, Michigan Forest Association, Business and Professional Women's Club, and St. Mary Hospital Alumni Association. She enjoyed deer hunting, knitting, traveling and loved being outdoors in nature. Surviving are many dear friends and relatives including her Goddaughters: Karen Peterson and Lori Kissau as well as all those she touched during her outstanding nursing career. Funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at St. Luke Ev. Lutheran Church, 5501 Gratiot Rd. Rev. Mark Lindloff will officiate with military burial at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at W. L. Case and Company, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 5:00-8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may made to St. Luke Ev.
